Core Policy

CORE ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA

General Requirements:

Cores must have no major parts missing or damage to obtain full core allowance.

Cores with damaged or missing parts are subject to reduced core allowances.

Cores may be returned against core charges up to 6 months after date of purchase.

The following rules apply to all cores being returned:

  • All disassembled cores will be considered having 1 parts damaged.
  • Badly rusted or corroded cores have no core value.
  • Fire damaged cores have no core value.
  • Cores that have been welded, brazed or otherwise repaired are considered no core value.

Power Brake Sales core acceptance requires only a visual inspection and is based on three simple criteria:

  • The core part must be an active part number offered for exchange by Power Brake Sales.
  • Core must be in an off-engine condition. This means there has been no prior attempt at rebuilding the component. The core component is a complete unit and not disassembled or altered in any manner. Core is not damaged by non-operational causes such as rust, rough handling, fire or improper removal.
  • Core must meet acceptance standards established within these guidelines. Refer to the specific product section for details about your core component below.
